This series will make a stunning calendar! That face/expression is again very close to the original. Love your palette, that muted/olive type green is great. I struggle with greens.
Hey, I’ll have to consider that calendar idea. While I don’t know a whole lot about oil painting, I’m starting to think that there might be a different texture for different kinds of paint. I’d normally just mix my own green oil (because it’s really easy with blue and yellow), but, for some reason or another, I recently picked up some “sap green” and it’s a nightmare to mix with stuff. It vanishes on everything I mix it into, and the texture is different. I think that might have something to do with how muted it turns out for the skin. All I need is just a touch of white and the green fades easily. I mean, I guess it’s a happy accident of some sort. Thanks so much!
