A beautifully handcrafted paper mache dragon I saw at a renaissance faire, with several texture layers added to make the background (public domain, my own, and from skeletalmess on flickr)

Being in my 60’s, I am a latecomer to photography. Yet I have found great satisfaction and pleasure in creating digital art from my photographs. Taking pictures was a hobby until surgery in 2001 left me disabled and gave me the opportunity to learn about digital art and photographic software. I’ve been selling my work online and through local galleries since 2009.

How I’d love to find something this wonderful at a fair (or anywhere)! I think I ’d look up the artist and buy more of his/her work. This is a beautiful treatment, worthy of the time and care it took to construct the dragon. Just wonderful. What is the size of the dragon?

  • I appreciate your very generous and thoughful comments very much, Isabelle!!! The dragon was hanging on a rack along with other amazing pieces. Unfortunately, we were trying to catch up with our group and I didn’t have time to stop and find out more about the artist. I really wanted to purchase something, but the timing just wasn’t right. It is beyond my imagination how such amazing work can be created! If I ever find this artist’s work again, I will be thrilled to give credit where it is due!!!
