Five minutes in a long life 5 by

These were captured on my mom-in-law’s 98th birthday – June 2010. All were shot within a few minutes as we sat at a picnic table in a park. It was the first time she’d been outside in six months. It took my husband about 3 hours to get her ready to venture out. She has almost no short-term memory, so it can be very frightening for her. I’m sure she has no recollection of the outing now.

Being in my 60’s, I am a latecomer to photography. Yet I have found great satisfaction and pleasure in creating digital art from my photographs. Taking pictures was a hobby until surgery in 2001 left me disabled and gave me the opportunity to learn about digital art and photographic software. I’ve been selling my work online and through local galleries since 2009.

this is my favourite so far…….such emotion capture here!~

  • It is my favorite also. It can be heartbreaking to watch loved ones change so dramatically, but at least she doesn’t remember what she doesn’t remember. Thanks so much for your wonderful comments and support, Tara!
