Mourning her loss by Ellen Cotton

I am feeling the burden of the delicate balance of our planet and the continuing greed that is causing so much suffering to all earth’s inhabitants. All living things are connected and inseparable – interdependent, like drops of water in the ocean.

A blend of two of my own images. The Big Sur coastline of California covered by early morning fog.

Being in my 60’s, I am a latecomer to photography. Yet I have found great satisfaction and pleasure in creating digital art from my photographs. Taking pictures was a hobby until surgery in 2001 left me disabled and gave me the opportunity to learn about digital art and photographic software. I’ve been selling my work online and through local galleries since 2009.

Very touching. I too….am feeling great sadness, and losing sleep over our ‘cut artery’ that won’t stop bleeding. Praying it is controlled soon, and that it’s a wake up call for new and better living.

  • Thank you for this thoughtful and heartfelt comment, MA (love your avatar)! I appreciate it very much.

Beautiful image. I am also worried that the greedy few will destroy us all. The oil spill is world wide, everything is connected. Great work, Ellen.

  • Somehow I feel a part of the problem, since I take cars and other oil-based products for granted. This is a wake-up call that I hope is heeded by everyone. I really appreciate your support, Tori! Thank you!!
