This is the view down a light microscope – it’s a type of cell structure with a complicated name I wrote down somewhere and promptly lost. But I love the colour, and the quasi-Gothic shapes – this is such a tiny thing caught between two slips of glass, and captured by my camera, but it’s so pointlessly beautiful! They call them ‘cells’ because they looked to their initial discoverers like the tiny rooms of a monastery…yet these ones look like something more. Even as an abstract line creation, this photo still grabs me.
