4711 Eau De Cologne by

Germany- Cologne- Köln

Sony Cybershot
Added a little texture and layer in PS7

Spotted this building on my walk through Cologne…

4711 is famous in Germany, the history is very interesting
The original cologne water. This light refreshing cologne has been popular for over two hundred years. Invented in Cologne, Germany .It was originally developed for medicinal purposes. The fascinating story behind this cologne can be found at www.4711.com.
The ingredients are still top secret today, with only the main ingredients known.
After some dispute ( too long to get into) Wilhelm Mülhens, was not allowed to ever again use the company name of Farina. He then chose his office’s former house number, 4711, as the name for his brand and company.

Oh my goodness, …..4711….everyone here in Germany know this Eau De Cologne, also called “Kölnisch Wasser”
My mother got every xmas from me a bottle, to use in the summer heat to get refreshed, or to get on a handkerchief to put in her pocket.
Wonderful idea to capture this building on a photo……….it belongs to “German History!!”
