Canon 50D, 50mm f1.8
Available light (September, Autumn in Prague)
Post-ed conversion to b/w, contrast/brightness adjust, cropped to square format
Title inspired by indecision … ;-)
As I’m more inclined to shoot ‘portrait’ aspect, most times, thought I’d try this cropped to square format, for reasons why I’m not really sure myself – just thought I’d try it. Unsure if the square crop works here, and have included the original for comparison – your constructive opinions welcome :-)

Oh this is lovely Ell great to see this pathway and trees and how you have converted it into b&W. For me I liie the squared image best as you feel closer to the bridge and pathway and bench is more intense and stronger in the image. I feel the bridge and further bench a little bit lost in the other image.
Thank you so much for your feedback, Karen :-))

Haven’t tried a square crop before, so am a little unsure of the outcome – agree with your comments though, re the bridge and seat … I think the seat is less lost in the original colour image – being white, it’s more obvious amongst the greenery :-)
Again, appreciate the feedback – thank you very very much :-))) x

Love square crops, looks good, love the title too… :)
I am pro square crop – can be unsettling to those of us brought up to regard portrait or Landscrape as being sacrosanct, but square crop can be delightul and should be savoured. It suits the above picture Ell.
i actually like the portrait one best and in colour, an explorer by nature, I want to drop everything grab my cam jump in and go!
Like all three versions for reasons various, but can’t decide on a favourite
… thank you for your fave, Berns :-)))

Agree with berns. I prefer the colour one too, but this does look good as a square crop B&W :))
great image, Ell!
