Had the great pleasure to (finally!!!) catch up with long time cyclist friend and co-redbubbler Judith Cahill recently … first time ‘street’ photowalk for Judith, and I’m very proud to say she’s taken to ‘street’ like a duck to water, and is also part of the upcoming SITHOM2012 exhibition!! :-D
This is marvellous. It’s stop-everything-elbows-on-the-desk and stare at the enlarged picture for a long time, marvellous. How it all comes back to the little hand on the tummy, the detail and surprise elements like the paint that is also on the street. Oh wow!
Faul, thank you for your wonderful comment, chuffed this had you with elbows on desk :-D Hadn’t realised the little hand on tummy occurred until getting this home – now regret I didn’t notice at the time and have the focal point on that little hand pushing on her Daddy’s belly-button, instead of the young lads … but had been previously taking a bunch of images of the little one, and didn’t want to raise the ire of her father (who knew I was there) and so shifted my attention elsewhere – perfect example though of “never take your eyes off the ball” … oh well, ce la vie :-)))
Very nice indeed Ell. Wonderful natural colours. Hmmm. 50mm f/1.4?? What happened to the 1.8? Xmas upgrade or from your recent OS trip? Read “envious”. :o))
Thank you Vince :-)) Trusty little f1.8 is ‘retired’, the f1.4 is a Chrissie prez to myself – the perserverance (long wait) paid off too! Up until recently, all the f1.4’s were well out of my price range … then I found this comparitive price list – got mine a month (?) ago through this HK reputable seller (paid less than a quarter of retail asking price!) but currently they don’t have any stock left :-/ … from the price comparison list though, there’s some readily available f1.4’s – you’d need not be “envious” anymore :-D
Well thanks for the Rap and this shot is so cute, with the young girl looking at he boys…..an interesting view on the human condition!…………..So dad was watching you…..lol…….blending in is an art in itself (and a longer lens helps too)…….The exhibition is exciting and has really got me thinking 2012 is going to be a big year………..
This shot is awesome, lots happening and a lovely glance into lives of people!
that’s great (the kid and the stomach) – I’m betting she was allowed to press the button to stop the bus/tram they caught to the city, and she’s re-living it. Looks like this is all the authorities had to do in order to get kids interested in art. Maybe the NGV will eventually become home to these works. Could be an historically important picture Ell.
