Meet "Spike"! by Ell-on-Wheels

The roundabout story to this image is, our cat is an escape artist! ;o) While attempting to locate the furball, happened to notice this rather large spider hanging around in our front yard lavender, for it’s next meal … forgot the cat, scooted back inside for the camera and the ‘macro’ lens! Love spiders! :o)))

Cat re-appeared in his own good time ;o))

Canon 50D, 28-90mm fitted with No.4 macro converter

Available light (mid afternoon, Summer)
Straight from camera, no post-ed

Capturing people being people, and the finer details of four and two wheeled blingy classic automotives – two fave ‘topics’ of imagery :-))

EWWWWWWW!!!!!!!! FANTASTIC macro Ell!! I’d love to favourite it, but I hate spiders :O however I do love the shot :))
Think perhaps it’s a childhood memory of being chased around the house by my father with a huntsman spider in his hands :/

  • Heheheheheee ;o))
Typical response, but through no fault of your own! ;o)
While I won’t handle them (except perhaps the cute ‘jumping spiders’) can apreciate the detail of a spider :o))
Thanks Di :o) That you chose to comment on something that gives you the creeps is kudos enough :o)) x

Do not love spiders…in fact SCREAM!!!!…
    …..nasty spider… great capture and detail..eww!… now :)

  • Heheheee :o)))
Spiders are not all nasty MsKate :o) The wee little ‘jumping’ spiders, barely bigger than a match head, are really cute! :-D
Wouldn’t attempt to handle this one though, left it to enjoy (the lavender and) it’s next meal!! ;o))

Photograph – Brilliant. Spider not so sure of. Glad we have limited number of big spiders over here. Only thing that I have a phobia about and looking at the shot gives me the jitters. Cheers.P.

  • “looking at the shot gives me the jitters”

    Awwww! ;o)))
Wouldn’t go picking them up, P, but I do find them fascinating :o))
Did you see Di’s spiny spider??? :-D
