There are some extra benefits to working a ‘public holiday’ ;-)

John (banjo) and Ian (clarinet) made working a Melbourne public holiday a lot more bearable, on the day a horse race stops the Nation – The Melbourne Cup

Permission granted to take some images of the dynamic jazz duo :-)

Capturing people being people, and the finer details of four and two wheeled blingy classic automotives – two fave ‘topics’ of imagery :-))

another beauty ! A great boss you’ve got, laying on the live music for the workers.

  • Thank you Geof :-)
Apparaently John and Ian have been booked to play at least once before for us, but this was the first time in 3 years I got to enjoy the jazz from this duo … worth waiting for, music and images :-)

these two are about the same vintage as some of the musicians who play on Sundays at Shine Cafe (hope thats the name) near the picture theatre at Glen Waverley (century walk). Variety of music and great to listen to over a coffee. Didn’t seem to mind having their pics taken last time we were there.

  • “great to listen to over a coffee”
I’d far rather be doing coffee with jazz than work with jazz ;-)
Glad for the opportunity/permission to take some pics though, can’t grizzle about that, as John has used an image of mine (of them) for one of his promotional flyers! :-)))

Beautifully composed (excuse the punt), great photography Ell!

  • Thank you Chris :-))
Ian was actually a little tricky to ‘follow’ – being a clarinet player, he moved a round a fair bit – really glad this image worked out Ok :-))

Love it :-) I really like the relationship between the dots on the shirt and the keys (is that what they are called?). Instant fave, and congratulations with Keyed being featured!

  • Thanks so much Baina :o))
Rather lucky really that my place of employment don’t mind me toting a camera, or using it in the building, special occasions only of course! ;o) Even so, didn’t spend too long photographing the guys – after all, I am employed for customer service, not taking photos ;o)))
