Funeral Songs by Elizium

Posted on October 10, 2008

I’m going to a funeral tomorrow to pay respects to my Grandfather…

So as i sit here in remembrance of him my thoughts can’t help but wander upon my own funeral (sombre i know)…i want a shallow grave, no coffin, face up with an acorn in my mouth…

…the songs for my funeral…

Celebrate by Fields of the Nephilim
Release by Pearl Jam
Day is Done by Nick Drake
The Night by Morphine
A Fond Farewll by Elliott Smith
…and Fucking Hostile by Pantera…just to shake it up!!!!

Feel free to share yours…

    RIP Alfred.
I want to be cremated..silly, but im scared of the dark and dont wish to be underground in the dark.
Songs for my funeral?hmmm people will probably play this song

  • Elizium:

    Thanks for the RIP…
You could put a lightbulb that’s powered by bio-degradable fuel in the coffin :-)
I have a fear of being burned alive or dead…so cremation kinda scares me…
As for your song surely you’re not that wicked….or are you??

Oi, you pinched my acorn plan!

A few of mine (not that I’ve given it any thought or anything…):

    Carcass – Exhume To Consume
Bathory – A Fine Day To Day
Traditional – Old Hag, You Have Killed Me
Stone Temple Pilots – Dead And Bloated
Cop Shoot Cop – Everbody Loves You (When You’re Dead)
Foetus – I Hate You All
    Mindfunk – Sister Blue

And the beautiful Crystal Ann by Annihilator

What do you say to people going to funerals? All the usual pleasantries sound a bit thoughtless…

  • Elizium:

Maybe we could be buried together…we could create a little copse from our corpses…on second thoughts do i want to spend all eternity in hell by your side?…Mmmm…could be fun!!
Great song choices!!!…i can just see the organist playing Carcass!!!
…and Sister Blue by Mindfunk!!! Aaah, the memories…They were one the great bands!!!
