Doing work in SoJie18, Abstract workshop really got me wanting to do more. I love abstract. Some reality some not so much…….I started with this pair of chairs and added as I went. I would love a view like this. A little bit surreal. It is funny however that I created this tree like structure that is flat on top…..when I went to lunch with a friend today at a nursery, they had trees like this. The are recreating the way the tree grows. They looked very strange. I will have to take a photo next time I go.
For now, this is still a bit of a work in progress….so let me know what you think about the view from the “Weekend Chairs”

Traditional, Digital & Photographic Artist
I am inspired by everything in life.
Nature, landscape, city life and more.
Over 25 years as a flight attendant has let me see life from every angle. On the road my camera and Mac are my constant companions. At home, it’s hard to find me with out a paint brush in hand.
No matter what, as long as I am creating I am content.
Thanks for viewing my work!!

I think it is very neat – surreal was the first thing that came to my mind – particularly with the way it plays with perspective – can make one ask themselves if those chairs are indoors or outdoors, sitting on a floor or floating against the wall? I love that there are so many ways to look at this – it is like a scene that has been unfolded or is constantly shifting.

  • Thanks so much for your wonderful comment Mui-ling. I had great fun here, just feeling the view and not worrying about reality. I would love to sit in those chairs with you and have a conversation about what we see….now that would be fun.

There are trees that grow like that, and they look quite weird…I like the idea of the weekend chairs!

  • What a conversation we could have in the weekend chairs Mel. Yes those trees are quite weird, even more so after a bit of wine….but yet I like the idea of them…..quite like an umbrella of sorts. Thanks Mel for the wonderful comment.

What a strange tree! It hangs like an umbrella over the 2 chairs. I see the little adobe structures too, and the stairs leading to “somewhere”. You are so good with abstract paintings, Elizabeth. My favorite section is the bottom right corner with the blue polka dots and brown chair. Love that area.

  • I love that part with the blue also….it is very much an image from our trip to Disney land. We were in the buildings of the car’s ride and they had the bottoms of bottles stuck in the wall like that. I may have to do an abstract digital with that as well. Ruth would love it as she was fascinated by those walls.
    Thanks Frannie for the comment!!
