Thanks Lina…..this is a piece that leaves a lump in my throat……..and I was fine until my sister saw it and told me that it made her cry. I can’t stop now…….I miss it so much.
But I am thrilled with how this turned out. And more than thrilled that Eddy put his up for translation.

Elizabeth!!! This is spectacular! Goes straight to my heart! I want to be there! You have done such an outstanding job with this translation! I adore how the foreground leads you home!!! A stroke of brilliance I’d say! I wish I could hit the fave button 10 times!
Thanks so much Robin……I am very happy with the out come, but I think on my home screen it looked a bit brighter, I was trying to fix it….but I guess it’s because I am looking at it really large.
I love the process of digital….for me it’s like a treasure hunt….finding what will work to give me what I want in textures and under lying depth. THANKS FOR THE WONDERFUL COMMENT!!! You always make my day!!

fascinating piece
Ohhh, Elizabeth!! This is superb!! I can’t even begin to describe how this makes me feel. The warmth of the homely house to come home to every day is just so compelling here, and that beautiful burst of colour on the water…….
2 days ago we all went to a carnival event here. There was great country/blues music, wonderful food & wine, and from all the Camphor Laurel trees (of which there are many) there were hundreds of gorgeous coloured paper lanterns to light the night. Thousands of people had a wonderful night of relaxation with these beautiful lanterns bobbing in the warm breeze overhead….. I spent half my night watching those lanterns because they were so incredibly beautiful and filled me with such joy.
This work fills me with that same feeling of joy and warmth…… I could look at it all day :D
What a wonderful comment to come back to Rosemary, I am so happy to hear you say you get a warm and wonderful feeling. It started out that I wanted it to feel cold and left behind. This is my family home that we have lost to the bank. And I imagine it empty and lonely right now, but the memories kicked in and I couldn’t help but think of all the times I came back to this wonderful place and saw those lights on knowing that family was there waiting for me. I miss it so much and miss my mom and dad and step dad…..it has been a hard couple of years……but I still dream of going home to this place and seeing the welcoming light. But for now I will just keep it in my dreams and in this image. Thanks for your awesome comment Rosemary……it made me cry, but in a good way. xxoo

There are many guiding lights here, it seems. The lights seem anticipating and hopeful. Yet there is a line, a sort of glass wall reflecting them back on themselves, as if “is it real?”, or “is this happening”. I’m left with the hope that the lights will figure out how to jump over the glass wall and get back home with their charges. Even the home looks hopeful, it’s warm lights burning for them. Special work, Elizabeth; says so much.
Thanks Frannie, This is a special piece to me, and it comes from my heart. When I saw Eddy had put up his piece I knew I wanted to do it right away. I almost didn’t use my family home here, but I guess in the end I needed to , it fit and it feels right. I did change it however to a more hopeful piece….it started out with a cold and empty shell of a house. I am that somehow the lights were turned on……in memory of all those wonderful times that I saw them coming home. I miss it, and can’t imagine that I can’t go there and walk right in. Times change….always. I appreciate your words thought:)))) more than you know.

Elizabeth I’m utterly speechless! I love it, really really love it!!! The coziness of the house with those welcoming & guiding evening lights. And I can even see that you took the original colors from my painting to include colorful guiding shapes (spirits as I call them) into the landscape. From WIPS to finish – just fantastic! I’m dejighted, proud, & honored that you trasnlated my work. Infact, this has cheered me up so much that I feel much better. Thank you Liz, I will cherish this a lot!!
