Acrylic on canvas, 48″ × 36″

I don’t think I will ever get tired of seeing the rice fields of Sacramento from the air. The colors are so amazing, depending on the season. It’s as if I can see it breathing. This was painted from an image taking this spring. Some of the earth turned under, some fallow land and others are flooded with water possibly ready for the rice to be planted. The water is what I love the most. When the sun hits it on our descent it shines white, almost blinding and I feel like I can’t take my eyes off of it. I may continue to work on this painting, but for now I hope you enjoy viewing “Where Everything Grows”

I am inspired by everything in life.
Nature, landscape, city life and more.
Over 25 years as a flight attendant has let me see life from every angle. On the road my camera and Mac are my constant companions. At home, it’s hard to find me with out a paint brush in hand.
No matter what, as long as I am creating I am content.
Thanks for viewing my work!!

    Goorgeous Elizabeth!!
I love the colors and the smooth and peaceful look that you created here. The Mood is OUTSTANDING.
The composition is perfect! I can’t take my eyes of this piece.
Actually, I noticed that this is happening with me with all of your paintings….:)

  • Awwwww, that is such a wonderful comment Betty, thank you form the bottom of my heart. I am so glad that you you like it. I think we (painters) all have that feeling of (IS IT DONE, IS IT RIGHT??)…….I worked for several months on this off and on, I still think it needs more, but in case I ruin it…..I thought I better post it. I think I may tone down the teal blue just a bit. Maybe gray it just a little. Not sure. But I am so happy with how the distant houses and trees came out……that is always so difficult for me. But thank you thank you Betty!! xxxooo

I love that you will continue to work on this and that it will evolve as crop and the earth indeed does Elizabeth- the tones are so beautiful!

  • Thank yo so much Rosie…..yes, I do think I will continue…..but it helps me to see it here so I can see how it looks in a frame and at a distance and all of that. I appreciate your comment so much!! xxxoooo

I feel like I am looking into a river and the water is passing over earth stones.. this is really a wonderful work as you keep emerging, flowing and growing. I like that your work always feels animated. xoxox

  • Thank you so much Lina…….I love the feeling of THE LOVE OF EARTH……..that’s how I feel when I see these fields (I become one with them) and I am so thrilled to post this piece. I have worked for a long time……but still, it could get better…….Thank you so much for stopping tonight, just what I needed…….huge smiles, elizabeth

You’ve captured that view beautifully, and added more to it! I know this scene from the air—I think your interpretation looks more beautiful, Elizabeth.

  • Jan, thank you so much, I’m glad that you have also seen this view. Then you understand what I feel, because I know you are an artist. I am so grateful for that, being an artist…..I DO see it like this and I appreciate you lovely comment. I hope to paint many more, because there are so many views that I would love to show from my room in the sky.xxoo

I love seeing our earth from the sky – and now you’ve recreated the images I’ve seen. Beautiful work, as usual, Elizabeth!

  • Thank you so much Wendi……it is something that I have worked toward for about 4 years now. Showing this kind of view. The earth does seem to simmer and glow in the sun. It feels to me like I can see it breath. Makes me want to be kinder still to her……mother earth.
