History Whispers by Elizabeth Bravo

Photographic Prints

Available to buy on…

Original acrylic 12″×12″ painting, merged with San Francisco image of the city through a window jutting out.
The scene I have painted behind this San Francisco window may not be a reality for that area, it feels more south west to me…….but I love the feeling of history speaking to us. I love the blend of this view of city life through a bay window with the echo of a face. A vision of our great great grandparents, begging us to take care. to love the land as much as what we build on it. The original painting will be posted later, but for now I hope you enjoy the view of “History Whispers”

Traditional, Digital & Photographic Artist
I am inspired by everything in life.
Nature, landscape, city life and more.
Over 25 years as a flight attendant has let me see life from every angle. On the road my camera and Mac are my constant companions. At home, it’s hard to find me with out a paint brush in hand.
No matter what, as long as I am creating I am content.
Thanks for viewing my work!!

    BEAUTIFUL work, Elizabeth – wow.

  • Thanks so much Colleen:))))))))xxoo….I have been wanting to post just the image of the window…..but I kept waiting for an idea……this worked so nicely. I love the dark shadow above the eye. I almost lost it, but worked it out to get it back in.

Fantastic artwork Elizabeth, evoking countless stories and speaking of history and dreams.
I really like this style of artwork you’ve developed, and I can’t help but imagine finding it in a fancy SFO art gallery.

  • Oh…….I would love that so much Richard……..and I would be totally thinking of you and all my wonderful supportive friends here, cuz you all inspire me more than I can tell you. Your comments are always so insightful, thanks so so much!! I am really thrilled with this. I have thoughts on more……… :))))

One of your finest pieces… at least, one of my favorites. Wonderfully surreal. The colors and tones melt as if heated in a copper pot.

  • Thanks so much Fran…….I am loving how these images are just starting to fall in front of me at the right time. The photo of the painting didn’t come out right because I didn’t have the right lighting. So I thought I would play around with it until I had time to take a good photo. The two images were close by and I had been about ready to post the window alone, but I thought I would take a chance on working on a blend. So glad I did.

Wonderful art. Satisfying to look at.
It reminded me, somehow, of when I retired after 27 years from being a welfare worker. It’s all in my memory; history … but I’m already, after 4 years, gone from all the years I spent at the that desk. Others have come and gone. New friends, new clients, even a new building. If I had never been born, it would be no different than it is today. I took my past with me when I left. Just as it should be.It was of great value to me.

What a great concept Elizabeth, I love what you write about the world of our ancestors and the hope to take care of the world we still want to live in tomorrow. Beautiful with the face and the soft green of a peaceful evening.Ruth

  • Hi Ruth, I am so glad that you like this and that you saw it. This is the face that I spoke of, but the painting is more of a square with the whole face. The ink didn’t come out right in the photo, so I played with it for this image and loved how it came out. I love the digital world and when I get to use a physical painted work with an image it really seems special!! THanks so much for your sweet comment. xxoo
