Acrylic painting on canvas 36″×24″

This painting started as many things. It was a completely different painting and then it was very abstract. I found the dripping texture to be something different than water, the windows more like passageways, the tunnel at the bottom started out as a simple door and evolved. I can’t ever say that a painting is totally complete. I may add a bit here and there, but it started to feel good. I could feel the glimmer as I gazed at it. So I titled it “A Glimmer of Hope”.

Nature, landscape, city life and more.
Over 25 years as a flight attendant has let me see life from every angle. On the road my camera and Mac are my constant companions. At home, it’s hard to find me with out a paint brush in hand.

Wow amazing work Elizabeth, you are definitely a lady of many talents! I love the overall color and particularly those spots of red that draw the eye in…

  • Thanks Joanne, I hesitated to put this up because I really wasn’t sure if it was done!! Paintings are hard for me to know when to quit. But I like how it looks in a frame. You are so sweet to comment and it means a lot when you do!!! So THANK YOU:)))xxx

i really like this.. the reds and blues and an overall darkness within it, which i especially like.. i’m just in love with those 3 red dots over that paned ‘window’..

  • Hi Simon,
Thank you so much for your wonderful comment. I appreciate it so very much. It’s funny about the red dots, I had considered putting 3 more and my husband said NOOOOOOO. I did agree, but I tend to over think these things. I just thought it was funny.
    Anyway, thanks for stopping by.

It does have an abstract feel and I love the splashes light and color! The “drips” almost look like dripping steel although this may not have been what you wanted the viewer to envision. But then I sometimes see things differently from others. And it is not always a good thing. LOL!

  • Hi Patricia,
I agree that the drips are something other than water. Steel? I didn’t think of that, but I like the thought. I just know that I went with instinct instead of using my head so much. I ALWAYS LOVE your comments. Different is a GOOD THING! Most of all I like honest feed back and just to know what a viewer sees. Your comment on the last clothes pins shot made me smile all day. tee hee:)))))) They DO look like they’re performing a trapeze act.
    Anyway, thank you!!!

Thanks so much Eva…..Your comment is so very much appreciated. Glad you like it. I do feel it still needs work, but that’s just the perfectionist in me.
