This painting was inspired by the lake that we visit in Northern California.
Lake Almanor. The trees are so thick and there are layers and layers. This was reflected in how much I needed to work to build up the layers in a way that felt right. I would love to work on more paintings like this and get a better feel for these beatiful trees, but for now I enjoyed finding a way to show the beautiful pines as they caught a Moment of Sun.
