Discovery at the Beach

Discovery at the Beach

Watercolor painting. 140lb Montval Paper.
This painting was done with a lot of wet on wet to start. I lifted color and actually sanded with a moist but almost dry paper towel. I used a dental tool to remove specks bringing out the impression of ocean spray.

I took several photos of these three girls at the beach in Carmel. It was the first time that I really had fun with my telephoto lens. They had no idea that I was there so I was able to capture the fun that they were having being at the beach. My intent was in taking photos of my niece and nephew, also great captures, but this was a fun photo to do as a painting.

You are such a talented lady. I love your work.Do you exhibit your watercolours?

  • Elizabeth Bravo replied

Linda, thank you again for such kind comments. I do not exhibit yet. It’s something I am working toward. I do my painting when I can and building my portfolio has taken a lot of time. I think redbubble is the perfect place for me to find my true style. I can put things together and find what works as a collection. Then hopefully I can add what is needed to put it all together. All of the wonderful comments however are so very encouraging…so thank you!!!!
