My work is about the wonder and energy of life.
My paintings are largely, though not only, abstract – usually painted in oils. Colour plays a key role in my approach to painting. Colour is my passion. Starting with a clean slate in mind, each composition begins without a preconceived idea of what to paint. Simplifications of reality, detail is eliminated from recognizable objects leaving only the essence of recognizable forms. Painting gives me a way to touch people’s lives. It is why I paint.
My photographs are primarily landscapes taken in places that have inspired me.
