i went to the bottom once with a cousin he was later killed in the war in 72? or there about a only child and nice kid i was 27 he was 17 when we went down in the canyon his mom had asked me to take him to az to see the canyon he married and was a piolet and was shot down too bad wasted lifes nice young fellow to think god gave me all these years and all he got was 27 so seeing this photo reminded me of him keep the photo taking up your good
elisab replied
You have some great memories of the canyon and of your cousin. You have more years here, because God has more plans for your life. Sounds like your cousins work was complete. Thanks for you noticing the shot and leaving a great comment.

story when i was going down grand canyon on a mule, you sort of hung off the edge of the clift and could look straight dow into the canyon below and it was very below too well there was this huge fellow on a mule in front of me looking over too , he looked back at the mule rangler and asked him oh old do mules live to be? the rangler said oh 40 maybe! he said how old is this mule i am on,now, the rangler told him oh maybe 40 or so, the poor huge man turned pale as a ghost and said i want off this second , we all laughed becasue we knew it was a bad joke by the young rangler that was so funny for us on the younger mules the bottom of the canyon was hot as hell that day 101f i believe / i will never forget the look on that huge mans face
elisab replied
The workers at the canyon sure do have a sense of humor. I saw some of the mules in the pens and have a shot of some with riders that are very far away. A 40 year old mule, oh my what a joke. Did the huge man make it back to the rim without having a heart attack? I went to the canyons the first week of October so it wasn’t that hot for us. It is hotter down in the canyons than at the rims though.

This is beautiful…........I’ve backpacked to the bottom 3 times and stayed at Bright Angel campground and fished for trout in Bright Angel Creek. A bottle of beer at Phantom Ranch was expensive. This photo brings back fond memories for me. Well done!!
