Stone Gaia

Elena Ray

Stone Gaia

The symbols in this image are the tree of life with the rabbit representing birth and the raven representing death. The trees roots are wrapped around the figure of a woman; the soul of nature in her endless labor, toiling and eroding in her cyclical eternity. Photo Montage.

symbolism is where it’s at, one transcends the mundane realities and really hits ones spiritual quest with images like this. Timeless, means timeless. Art has to transcend it’s day to become something special. well done

Aloha kakahiaka, good morning! Please add this exquisite image to the Forests group. It is deeply spiritual and very very beautiful!! I saw the woman in the roots of the tree, the bunny and the raven even before I read your wonderful commentary. I do love the subliminal meaning and deep tones of this beautiful work of art!

This is just too beautiful for words. Speaks to me. I had a dream ten years ago, which I developed into little artwork A4 size a few months ago and also shows a tree going underground. It is called DREAM (or THE DREAM, not sure now) and can be seen under Susan Kemp on the southafricanartists.com website. It is a multimedia work in which I used cloth, bostik glue, lentils, acrylic builders paste, photostats and doodles.
