Setting free the bluebird of happinessby Elena Malec
An Iranian girl releases the blue bird of happiness from cage somewhere in Isfahan. A blue bird is a universal symbol of cheerfulness, happiness, hope, renewal and the pious Muslim girl who kept it captive in a her house decides one day to set the bird free. The message is that young people of Iran express their freedom to choose hope, happiness, renewal for their country. For an art contest on the theme Freedom of expression. My own composition in Soft pastels on pastel paper 18×24in.
