Venus
This is another Art Nouveau translation of the subject of the Goddess Venus. I think she’d lend herself well to this decadent French styling, so I attempted it myself & was quite pleased with the result. I really enjoyed doing this piece of poster-style art as it was fun, colourful & sensual. I always enjoy tipping my hat to my heroes…& it’s always good to embrace your research thoroughly by enjoying the artists favourite tipple – absinthe!...because you can can can :)

The pose was loosely based on a ‘classic’ 1940’s movie star image & the backdrop, colouring etc was a homage to Klimt. I really enjoy putting different elements together & seeing what happens. I did a series of modern day punks & goths in the Art Nouveau style to see if i could get a feel for the era & how it would translate in todays popular culture. i will get round to scanning them in & I will share them on RB. Thanks again for enjoying my work. You have a great style too. Happy New Year. Kath :)
