Variegated Fairy-wren by

This is my first attempt at some artistic photoshop modifications of my photos. What do you think? Is it arty or just naff? I thought that the black and white background might set off his colours. Variegated Fairy-wren (Malurus lamberti), Alice Springs, Northern Territory, Australia.

Stuart, Believe it or not I did the same thing with my FIRST capture of a Varigated for exactly the same reason. My capture wasn’t very good though as the bird was hidden in some brown old bush. I was just so excited about seeing one for the first time. This looks great!

  • How about that? They truly are inspirational birds!

You wouldn’t be the only one to help things along with photoshop’s capabilities.. nicely done. What a beautiful bird.

  • No, and as I get better at it, I am using more and more, soon all my birds will look like super-models!
