Antilopine Wallaroo by

An Antilopine Wallaroo (Macropus antilopinus) pauses among the termite mounds to check me out before bounding back into the scrub, west of Katherine, Northern Territory, Australia.

Did you know that this species is supposed to be the rarrest in all Australia? I found one on a very remote mountain top when I was there a few years back. It was in the mountains a few hours out of Cairs. Was very cool!

  • I didn’t know that. I saw them a bit—maybe I should tell someone! I never did see a Northern Nailtail though.

I really wanted to see the red tree kangeroos but you have to be in the right areas and fairly lucky to see those in the wild. Apparently I was neither while I was there lol!
