This was taken in one of the backstreets of Florence, Italy, leading to the Duomo, which you can see in the distance. This was taken with a Pentax ESPIO 150SL 35mm film camera, Kodak colour film and scanned to digital.
This shot was featured on the red bubble home page…woo hoo….on 2.7.2010. Many thanks so very much for making my day. Cheers.
This shot was featured in the ‘Homepage Vets’ Group.
Just beautiful Elana, lovely tones. I have always wanted to go to Italy!
You would love it. I don’t know a single person that has been to Italy and didn’t love the people, passion, food, wine, countryside, history and buildings. Oh, then there is the language. Bellissimo.
Superbi, pozzo-fatto. Doesn’t sound too complimentary, but it is. Never been to Florenece, always wanted to though – very jealous :(. Love the perspective and detail babe.
Superb and positively fab? Is the translation lost in translation or correct? Florence is an amazing city and I’d love to get back to Italy, one day, with the knowledge, skill and a much better camera than I did when I was there years ago. Many thanks.
Very good! Superb (that was a hard one eh?) and ‘well done’. I had the chance to go when a student – about 200 years ago, but couldn’t raise the cash – always regretted it. It’s true about old equipment too, I have been to some fascinating places over the years and just wish I’d had the technology available now. It’s hard to scan etc, old 35mm negatives and get a decent shot.
Hi Elana, amazing pic. I must thank you on a personal note for posting this, I was going through some old travel pics and i came across a pic with this exact tower in it and knew it was Florence but was still a little unsure as my stop in Florence was very brief (yet i still remember the amazing icecream and ‘real’ pizza). Anyway, wonderful streetscape, you should definitely enter it into RB’s "City " comp
Glad I could help you out. Florence is an amazing city and the food was super too. I have entered a pick taken in Melbourne for the RB’s City comp, but maybe I’ll change it to this one. Many thanks for your vote of confidence.
