Island Church at Lake Bled

This is the natural island in the middle of Lake Bled in Slovenia.

The island has several buildings, the main one being the Pilgrimage Church of the Assumption of Mary, built in the 15th century, where weddings are held regularly. The church has a 52-metre tower and there is a stairway with 99 steps leading up to the building.

This was taken with a Canon DSLR EOS 350D camera.

    ohhhhh! so romantic and still. Such a peaceful crystalline scene!
    Love the image, composition ~ with the steeple aligned beneath the summit of the mountain ini the background ~ brilliant colours, light and DOF!! the misty blueness of the mountain makes the island and church stand out that bit more.
