This child lives in one of the small villages on the outskirts of Pisco, the Peruvian city devastated by the earthquake which struck Peru on 15 August 2007. Over 650,000 people were affected by the earthquake, including this boy and his family.

This organisation provides assistance in disaster zones during the initial stages of the emergency. HODR volunteers arrived in Pisco shortly after the earthquake and were there, helping the people of Pisco, Ica, Chincha, Paracas and Cañete til January 2008.
