This Oil painting on canvas was inspired by a meadow near our home when we lived in Alpine County California in 1980. I love getting up at sunrise for walks in the early morning sunlight with its long shadows across the meadow grass. At this time of day the fragrant forest is bathed in a bright warm glow with cool crisp shadows and dew drips from the blades of grass. It is so easy to fall in love with nature then.
