Canadian geese taking off in the morning from Prospect Lake, Wheat Ridge, Colorado, USA. I used my 70-300 lens for this capture, so they look like they’re really close. I also added some dry brush in PSE 3.
Excellent, we have plenty geese in my area and I can never get s shot like this !
Thank you, Curtiss! The lake where I took this was almost totally covered with geese when I arrived. Then they started to take off in groups. I’ve been back after this to try and get more, similar shots, without success. Everything was right that morning.
Wow this is not doubt one of those rare shots many would spend weeks or months trying to capture. Beautiful
Thank you, Dave! There was a bit of luck involved in this capture. Everything happened to be right in that moment. I was panning while they were flying, and I am so thankful they happened to be positioned as they were.
Excellent. I am hoping to get some in-flight shots. Something I have never really focused on. It is a challenge…thats why I like it.
Thank you, Scott! I enjoy trying to catch birds in flight. Not easy, since the lighting changes when you turn your camera. I was really lucky with this shot.

Thank you, Tammy! Yes, you can’t really direct them, just hope for the best, and try to be ready with the camera.
