Overtime
A tale too common this day and age…
A factor that negativley impacts societry in more ways then one can imagine.
If Kinsey was right and 1 in 7 guys were exclusivley Gay… this may in fact represent more men then we believe.
He arrives to his idyllic wife a bloody mess
Freshly beaten bruises and abrasions
Adorn him like the gaunt facial he carries
He had got them in the park
Walking around searching for tonight’s meal
Of another man’s flesh
Like he did most nights he “worked late”
Well that is what he told his wife anyway
Never questioning the lie told to her
About the origins to his inflictions
She went about anointing the wounds of her dearly beloved
In a spasm of fretting that rivaled his
Which only deepens his pain for the treachery
He loves his wife but the thought of “late nights”
Brings out a desire that only comes natural
When suppressed of what you truly want
And as much as you try to be devoid of it
Temptation looms and always wins
No fruit is ever to be forbidden
Especially when it’s so sweet on the palate
But all that can be tasted now is blood
From one of over a dozen open wounds
Making the heart work overtime again
Taking its tender time to heal whatever can be salvaged
Because no doubt this little upset
Will never cease those arduous overtime shifts

Fantastic work, I’m sure many women have been in this position, and men if the 1in7 is right! I hope not that doesn’t leave enough men for those of us who are female:) I need at least 7 how will i know which 1 is gay…? No…joking lol. is wonderfully written, great work and very, very powerful!

Thanks Melissa, it’s a very Taboo thing here in Adelaide, it’s not called the city of parklands because we like our picnics… you do the math. Not many people really understand the community that lurks in the shadows at night, I thought I should give it a bit of much needed exposure.

Thanks Butch, I wrote this well over a year ago, I thought I might add it for my new family here on RB. It was hard to write then, but it’s a study I have always been interested in.

It’s a hard topic hey, Taboos are hard to summerize. Perhaps this is why issues concerning parts of the community like this have trouble being ressolved?
