Kangaroo Island was once a very isolated place. Because of the accessability no one never visited the island yet lived around it because of it’s very dense nature. There are times still you feel as if you literally the only person on earth there. it’s quite exhillerating to experince that.
But when times were tough and people did not have the oppertunity to stock up at Coles before hand it was a pretty harsh place. The island is very streached out so it’s not like there was much oppertunity for social interaction.
This lighthouse lays on the southern side near Remarkable rocks. This is maybe the most harsh of the regions when it comes to extreems. It gets the worst of the gusts and the wind and hardely ever sunshine. So quite literally a very dismal area.
I took this photo because I wanted to be reminded that there are more isolating situations then the menial ones I think of myself. It was a sad life there and this is an ode to the people who have to lived there. And may this photo of appreciation for the history be appreciated.

Well said, well done.
Thank you Linda, it is a long note but without it the picture would not have as much depth.
it’s quite a vocal picture anyway! But your explanation contextualises it for us. Great shot! Thanks! :D
