One More Day

The sky was almost mute and empty, as if a Hawk were coming in for a kill – silent as a soft breeze.
Trees with beautiful flowers, appeared to touch the great beyond – but then of course they would appear that way for I was sitting on the soft, freshly movwed grass,
looking up.
The silence was broken by the sounds of traffic in the distance,
a horn blasting and voices with garbled sounds,
a bus choking its’ way thru the maze of cars and taxi’s that filled the streets and people hurrying to where, there, here, lunch, or work?
Not me!
I could feel the warmth of the sun surrounging me as I grabbed and gobbled down a bite to eat,
while sitting here.
Suddenly a dark shadow loomed overhead – I dropped my food and scurried away as quickly as possible.
The shadow followed, fear struck at my core.
I could not get up, so I ran under a bush, for safety and joined the rest of the group that was hiding as well -
with one more day, added to the life of a pigeon……………
