Photographic Prints

This is my first linocut, whooo. I had a lot of trouble making it, not so much the cutting (though I did cut my finger, ouch), but the printing. I think I need more practice with that heh. Ended up having to touch up the image a bit with a paintbrush, and then clean it up in Photoshop.

And this is the result. A little girl sleeping in the arms of her favourite monster. =)

I am a former Illustration student who finished her Master degree and is now looking to take her love for art further. I hope to someday be able to do illustration as my profession and to make my living that way by becoming a children’s book illustrator. I love bright colours and cute images, because I don’t think there’s ever enough of it in this world!

I love lino cuts! I did a mullti coloured one at TAFE years ago! Nowhere near as cute as yours! One of my teachers used to put a board on her lino cuts on the floor, and walk on them to print them! LOL

  • Oooh, multi coloured ones sound interesting, though I have no idea how to start on something like that.
And that’s a very clever way to print it, maybe I should try it myself! =D

So cute! You’ve got a really great use of light and shadow in this, and the style matches perfectly to the innocence of the image. Really great work.
