just TOOO ADORABLE for WORDS!!!!! OOOOO how I remember that look on a cat’s face … those wide dilated pupils … SOMEbody’s gonna get POUNCED ON!!!! LOVE it!!!

Wowzer … well, I tell ya, if you can hold the camera still and keep the shutter open long enough … natural light can’t be beat!!! Now, having said that, I just went out and bought an SB400 speedlight that I can bounce and either mount on my camera or cable it … I’m sooooooo excited!!! But up ‘till now, the on-board flash and my poor dogs have not been on the best of terms, so natural light is usually the way I’ve gone. And you, young miss, have proven the case for how beautiful it can be!!!!

Hey Ellen, I have seen this image around the challenges a couple of times. love the mood of the image it almost feels as though another prowling cat was holding the camera.

Love the way the face emerges from the background…

Ellen…im a dog person but ONLY because i live next to a national park and have so much wildlife around so unfortunately for me i cant have a cat.& have substituted with two whte fluffy Bichons!.I did have as a kid and boy…have i seen that “just about to pounce look” I love it! Captured at the right moment and im smiling at the mischieviousness a cat has.lolololol

How do you get your pictures with this low light so sharp…I still cannot master this. I am always so impressed with your creativity with your lighting….Teach me Ellen teach me ;o)

Haha, this was a lucky one … I had it set on no flash and I was by the fireplace where Carlos was chasing his fishie toy. The fireplace throws light in kind of unpredictable ways so hence the low light and slow shutter but sometimes when the light hits just right it becomes enough light to snap fast. Try it by a fire its fun. :) Thanks for the compliments, love and hugs.
