I am a country girl, always have been, always will be. I was blessed to grow up on a farm in Northwestern Ontario, Canada. From a very early age I was making friends with all sorts of animals, and they continue to be the inspiration for many of my photographs to this day.
One of my main passions is birds. I have spent many joyful years hatching, raising and caring for them. Some of the different varieties I have had the pleasure to enjoy are: chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese, guinea fowl, peafowl, and doves. I have loved all of them, and I will treasure the experiences and memories for the rest of my life.
I was also fortunate to have horses while I was growing up. They were a huge part of my life and I was involved in shows and other activities for a good number of years. Ever since I got on my first horse, around the age of 3 (with my mom behind me), I fell in love with riding. Horses are wonderful to photograph, and I was happy for the opportunity to take some shots recently.
My photography is definitely a reflection of who I am. A girl who loves the great outdoors and all God’s creatures. Who wants to share the beauty of often overlooked things with others. I love the artistry of photography and the artistic possibilities in processing images as well. Tone mapping and HDR are two things I like to experiment with, I think that they just bring a photo to life by displaying more detail than an unedited shot would show. It is my hope that the photos I share will make people smile & remind them that God has truly made a beautiful creation.
