This is my translation of, Hans Kawitzki’s wonderful & inspiring image:
Smoke filled Landscape
by Hans Kawitzki

My inspiration to translate this image into a traditional painting lies mainly in the way the photographer caught, the light in the landscape and the way the shadows of the trees demarcates & acentuates the foreground & background.

This also brings me to spirals, which are symbolic for depicting, creativity, rejuvenation, and expansion. Landscapes, represent a large part of nature and symbolically, the spirals that fill this landscape, reflect the constant rebirth of life, expansion of boundaries, and the constant rejuvenation of living things. So unique and important that, without their seen and unseen existence, a landscape would be as barren as the… hmmm – the moon! :)

What’s so great about this is that it feels like those lines already a message in the original. You took it to a whole new level. This is really nice Eddy. I love it!!

  • Thanks Elizabeth, I’m so relieved about finishing, I thought I wasn’t going to be able to finish. Thank you for all your support, especially when for lack of time, I couldn’t comment on all the work going on in the workshop :). Thank you ever so much!

Traditional media combined with mix media can be tons of fun, if you can handle it – I do really like how you using the paint to create all the patterns, giving the painting a lot of sculptural dynamics :))
The palette id fantastic as well !!
and finally the mystery of crop circles (and few squares) is solved as well – sheer brilliant overall and I’m loving it !!! :))) Cheers -Iwona

  • It’s a pleasure to finally meet you (online) Iwona :) Thanks for the wonderful comment, I’ve also become a big fan of your work in Sojie 16. I will pay them a visit soon. Thanks again :)
