I often spend time thinking about the ‘color & texture’ of the people around me. Almost as soon as I start to interact with someone, I begin to picture them in a certain color or mix of colors & textures.
Inspiration for this painting came from my rather large and extended family. This is my attempt to paint them in terms of their personality, character, attitude & mood as I remember them.
I deliberately represented them as squares so that I could concentrate on their ‘colors & textures’. I however rendered them in different sizes to show their position, age & influence within the family. Though some of them have changed since I last saw them (Thank God for some!), I still remember them just like this and, it still brings a smile & warmth to my face when I see it…
