His work has been included in two Berkshire Biennials, numerous group shows in Boston, and in group and solo shows at The Harrison Gallery. “I am fascinated by the relationship of paint to its ground, restricted values, and, increasingly, in a restricted palette. The fact that human minds so readily translate the language of paint and marks into visual images that result in a sense of ‘realism’ fascinates me and informs all my choices.” — Edward Cating

Cating holds a BFA in Theatre from Southwestern University and a Studio Diploma from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (‘02).
