Like its cousin the Leafy Sea Dragon, the Weedy Sea Dragon is endemic to Australia. This individual is a large female, found about ten metres underwater at Botany Bay, Sydney.
That was me! Friend of mine saw this critter on a documentary, loved it, so I sent this as a Christmas present. Great photo, now gracing a wall in the Shetland Islands.
