A word is just a word, no matter what connotation society attaches to a title, we are our own worst enemies when we attach what we believe that title should mean to ourselves through others labels. I’ve been called an asshole, a bitch, a cunt, and most obviously a whore, and not a one of those “names” causes me to lose sleep, like Mom and Dad said, “ticks and stones may break my bones, but names only make me more colorful and creative.” …. Okay maybe that was just my Mom and Dad. (-:
In short, know who you are, don’t let anyone tell you who you are, and if they attempt to with their ignorance and cruelty, turn in on them, redefine it and wear it proud. (-: I’m taking it back.
Whores unite!

whore, slut, tramp, sleazy, cunt, bitch, asshole, pride, intelligence, saying screw you to those who deserve it, ignorance, name calling, words, sticks and stones, red, lip gloss, lost sleep, colorful, taking it back
Originally dark blonde, shy girl with an inferiority complex. But that’s no fun now is it? Black hair, yellowy hazel eyes, a “the louder the better” mentality, and an ego the size of Detroit (as fake as my raven hair I should mention) rounds out my very normal nautre. (-: Judge me by my poetry and my writing, and you’ll know me better than 85% of the rest of the world. (-:

Awesome concept and execution! I love this photo!
THANK YOU! No really, I did not know if anyone would get this, glad you did. (-: Funny part about it, asking your boyfriend to take a picture of you where you are calling yourself a whore. lmao He said “Ummm, where is this going up?”, I responded by saying Redbubble, to that he said “Well your family will be able to see it!”, I got all ultra feministic saying, I don’t care, if they don’t know me by now!!! lol Seriously, greatly appreciated. The name whore is likely for me when used in angry tirade….. just pretty much like gargling on shit….
A whore is only a Rose with less leaves and more scent… ;O)
Beautiful example. I couldn’t agree more lol Who needs leaves anyway, they just serves as more surface area to allow the wind to blow me hither and tither. lol

Wow, brilliant? So appreciated. Occasionally I feel extremely out of touch with my femininity, your comments give me hope bc it tells me that I am perhaps more in touch than I realize. Thank you so very much.

a women is never a whore, I only see what is within and it is never ugly.
I have a saying similiar to your’s.
‘Sticks and stones may break my bones
but whips and chains excite me’
life is to be enjoyed anyway one likes…never to hide behind words meant to hurt
But see, I enjoy being called a whore, I’m taking it back. lol I see what you mean though and I rather agree, Thank you for the comments (-:

this is amazing! what i see when i look at it, before i read the description, is how a person can internalize a name they’ve been called. as a result, it’s like they end up branding themselves. It’s painful, permanent, and leaves a mark. it’s one of the first things people call a woman to insult her. for many, it’s one of the worst names to be called. but only, like you said, if we let it get to us. great photo!
Lish, I love the fact that you let the photo make you feel something, but I think you felt exactly what I was trying to reject. You seen it as something a person “can internalize”, and you feel (like most everyone consequently) “as a result, it’s like they end up branding themselves”. That couldn’t be further from what I was trying to convey. It’s not painful, it’s not permanent, and it really doesn’t leave a mark. It’s inconsequential, it’s a word, a silly, stupid 1 syllable utterance of a troglidyte nature. It’s meaningless. My intended point was, regardless of the word it’s the fact that people are attempting to prey on others insecurities, now that we know this, we should not let it get the anticipated result. I am not lecturing or being upset or acting as a result of being offended, just want to make sure anyone who reads the comments understands my original vision. C-:
