Even angels cry. Those words were the inspiration for this shot, and I thank my beautiful niece (whom I shall call by her nickname), Scramblez for posing and taking direction not only in the elegant placement of her hands, but the sadness she mirrored beautifully in her face from mere key words. She wants one day to be a model, it is my opinion if judged soley on outer beauty alone, she will accomplish it. However were the world to factor in her inner beauty, she would not only accomplish her dreams, but own the industry. Perhaps you will think me partial, I understand, but you have not met her. She is one of the reasons I strive to live a life in the light, and I pray the reflection of my image and past deeds on the pond that spans between our years will only make her more proud to call me family/friend.
This picture is meant to convey a certain sadness that I can only imagine must exist within the prison that is an angels love. The ability to know sin, and love a being despite it or that beings weakness, has always intrigued me. I suppose it would be important to note that I believe children are the closest thing we have here on Earth in a physical sense to the angelic.
This picture was taken with a Sprint EVO phone, and the only edits I incorporated were intended to pose the warm and gritty/smooth texture against the cold set of her eyes. Something in the stark contrast felt right and conveyed the emotion I was looking for. I hope you enjoy the end product as much as I.
