We all aspire to love ourselves in totality, but are told to dim our light in an attempt to make others more comfortable. Do not admit your successes or bring notice to your beauty is the mantra from those around us as long as we can remember. There is a fine line between narcissism and appreciation, I have always attempted to remain grounded while searching out what has the ability to make me beautiful, not only aesthetically, but emotionally and mentally. This picture is an example of how I view self love. It’s not a dirty endeavor.
You’ll know when you’ve accomplished it, it will feel damn good, and anything that feels that good cannot be wrong.
So love yourself, in the words of Rupaul, “Sugar if you can’t love yourself, how’n’the hell you gonna love somebody else? Can I get an Amen?”
