My 2 rescued hens, Daisy and Rosie enjoying some seeds. Layers are usually slaughtered at the tender young age of 18 months and sold to the pet food industry. These gorgeous girls have now been given a new lease on life and are free to explore the big wide world outside of cage hell. Now they can scratch in the dirt and seek out worms and other tasty morsels, enjoy sand baths and laze in the sun. Hens are very easy to keep and make wonderful pets. As a bonus, you get eggs too!
