Kindness Matters by

My gorgeous girl Daisy enjoying a cuddle. Daisy was rescued from a chicken farm where she had been confined to a wire cage her entire life. At about 18 months of age, “layers” are slaughtered and their meat is sold to the pet food industry. I’d rescue more, but my space is limited so hoping to buy a small piece of land so I can rescue and rehabilitate critters in need.

Please check out my other hen photos. Click on the photo below.

I am so behind you with this!! I am a member of a conservation society, and I am hoping to have a tiny exhibition to sell images to go towards it…

  • Oh excellent. I wish you great success with this venture. The only way it seems to get to people is to show graphic images, but mainstream media won’t allow much of that.

We have four pet hens. Their beaks were clipped before we bought them and I think that is sad. I believe the practice is becoming illegal here in the UK this year.

  • Lucky you. I wish I had more. Slowly but surely things are happening, like the banning of sow stalls, but the wheels turn slowly when it comes to farm animals. Thanks so much for your support.

My heart goes out to you and your beloved Daisy. I cannot fathom cruelty to animals. I, too, would rescue them all if I could. Your capture is outstanding, so touching and beautiful, and your message is of the utmost importance.

  • Thank you so much, your comment means a lot to me.

Lovely picture. Its a shame that not everyone values or cherishes these beautiful creatures.

  • No, but the enightened few are doing what they can to educate those around them. Hopefully some of my photos will make people think about what they buy and eat.
