How do you find out who owns the copyright on various poems and rhymes?
I would like to do some poem posters but want to use popular children’s rhymes-not being clever enough to make up my own!
eg “ten little monkeys jumping on the bed”
or “Mary had a litle lamb”
Any books I have that feature these rhymes only copyright the pics (or seem to) What do you think I should do? Are they public domain? Surely someone origionally wrote them.

LOL… you have to do searches. Try:
www.copyright.gov
You’ll find that many things are public domain – especially if they’re really old.
