Very little seems to survive in the harsh conditions of Rannoch Moor in Glencoe – Scotland apart from low level flowers and heather but some how this tree has found a foot hold on a rock and defies all the elements.

I survives because it has its feet in a big plum pudding, from the looks of it. What a great shot!
What a great idea, could replace compost :-)thanks for the comment
I like this very much Eddie …. love the way the light is being picked up by the grasses and the way the ominous clouds are hovering above the spindly tree! Excellent POV, composition and capture!!
Thank you very much John…we had cloud and rain all week there..but it makes for the more unusual shot
Nice work Eddie, I like the dodging and burning
Dodge and burn…would I :-)Thanks for the comment David
Looking at this makes me want to run for the comfort of the car! It looks exposed and cold and reasonably damp. Excellent as per normal, superb composition and the work which you’ve done on the images suits it perfectly.
Thanks for the comment David. We had sat in the car for ages waiting for the rain to stop. When I got out the car the wind was horrendous and I got soaked ( again ) getting back to the car..but I guess it was worth it.
great lighting and colours! excellent image!

Yes you would ( and Did )
