I recently attended a Civil War reenactment event in San Diego, California. The battles happen very quickly and the light is not always in the photographer’s favor. This Confederate soldier just happened to pull up right in front of me and I immediately realized what an opportunity I had. I never know until I process the photos weather or not I have something special. With this one I played with the processing to get just what I wanted and ended up with something pretty special. The reenactment events are fast and furious. Often they are so far away from the audience that it’s hard to get these types of shots. This particular event allowed me to be much closer to the action.
