Growing up on the prairies, jackrabbits have always been a thrill to spot- normally you get a few seconds before they notice you- and they’re off like a shot!! Lucky for me I finally found one who was willing to hang around for that extra second- too much sweet clover around! I used to think I would end up a landscape photographer, but these days I am getting more wildlife shots than ever, so maybe I will have to reconsider. Funny how we are always on the lookout for the big mammals- bears, elk, etc- but the smaller beasts can be just as fascinating to watch through a telephoto lens.
