I got swooped by a number of eagles while taking photographs near Port Hardy on northern Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada-between them and the many black bears we saw, our most recent photo trip was teeming with wildlife sightings! I took a whack of more standard images of eagles, with more neutral/natural colour and lighting- but I really love the motion blur and colours in this one, and the clarity about the eye. Funny how we all want that nature-magazine perfect photo, but the ones you really love are often the unplanned what-the-hell-why-not pics. What I really love, is how this image instantly conjures the marvellous sound of those huge wings whooshing through the air just over my head- just an amazing experience.
